QI is a British TV *quiz show* much like Wait,Wait Don't Tell Me! on US public radio and is hosted by Stephen Fry. You can watch more clips here. (As funny as they are, they also show, to me at least, how male-centric is British culture.)
* QI stands for Quite Interesting. I spent several hours one day over the T'giving weekend watching clips of the show on YouTube. If it were on TV here -- or at least on Hulu -- I would watch it every week.
That was an excellent Alan Rickman impersonation. Very funny.

must check it out. When I watch late night tv, letterman, etc, I am struck by the boys club atmosphere and humor.

It's funny, I was watching that very show on the actual television just this week. John Sessions (the guy doing the impersonation) is a gem. The one where they're all doing impersonations of James Fox is worth finding.
I don't disagree with you about British culture, or at least British television culture, but a friend of mine works on QI (he's an Elf) and he says they are constantly looking for women to appear on the show and it's difficult to a) find them and b)keep them. Apart from Jo Brand, I can't think of any who've come back often, and even she makes it pretty plain she thinks it's a pointless show sometimes. The style of the show does suit the male thing of sitting in pubs talking inconsequentially, which women don't do in the same way. I think women are more likely to talk about their friends and their lives, while men talk about kiwi fruit (a generalisation, but you know what I mean). Every now and again when I tell people about this, they get indignant and I say, Well let me know what women you think should be on it, and I'll pass it on, but they never come up with anyone. So if you have any ideas...
