"On February 21st, in a stunning move, Assembly Republicans voted to repeal Wisconsin’s Equal Pay Act... Assembly Republicans repealed the law that ensured that women cannot get paid less than a man for doing the same job. Women in Wisconsin still only make 77 cents on the dollar compared to men."
-From a newsletter put out by the state assemblyman from the Racine area.
I could not believe this when I read it. But it is true. Welcome to 1952, or maybe 1902.
If you are a woman or are married to one or have daughters and were thinking of moving to Wisconsin, you may want to think again.
WTF?!?! I wonder which of my Canadian friends I can get to adopt me...

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How could anyone defend a vote in favor of this?

Seriously? Women are sliding backwards in this country and no one seems to care.
Posted by: Carole | 28 February 2012 at 09:31 AM
Seriously? Isn't this in conflict with federal law, or am I dreaming?

Well, actually women care, but they don't count.
Seriously. How long till they take away our right to vote?

I'm sorry. I didn't put any "Fuck these people's" in that last comment.

Can you provide a snail address for the (expletive deleted) pox-ridden antisubstantiationist muttonheaded motherless tart who came up with this? Oh, and his friends who voted for it? Oh, and the governor who didn't veto its stupid a** when it crossed his stinking desk?
Or is that too harsh?
... Nah ...

He-who-might-go-to-jail-before-he-is-recalled hasn't signed it yet. It's on its way.

The mind boggles. And I can't afford to be boggled right now what with working full time in a tough economy and not having a man to support me as all good 50s era gals should!

I wish you great success and a tough hide as you start your route to the next political campaign. You have to do it.

What possible justification could they have come up with for this? Public or private.
We repealed this because...
???

Seriously?! I'm speechless. WTF is going on? (Pardon my French.) I was appallled at Limbaugh's comments regarding Ms. Fluke and now this? The conservatives are in the process of relegating women to the status of second class citizens. I swear they want all women to be barefoot and pregnant. I'm feeling the need to occupy something.

This is what happens when we let a bunch of misogynists run our country. I seriously hope that the Republicans get hurt big time in the November elections for this kind of garbage. They might want us all back in the 50's, but I believe that genie has been out of the bottle too long for that to happen. Maybe this country's real third political party needs to be the Women's Party.
