You may have heard of Little Free Libraries. You may even have noticed one in your city.
Imagine my surprise when I saw this in my teeny tiny town.
It is in the lot occupied by Julia's Java, a tiny drive-up kiosk selling morning caffeine. I make my own latte/cappucino at home every morning, but I buy my ground coffee from Julia in a 3-pound bag.
And now I have another place to donate books!
I saw an adorable one while out on a walk in my 'hood with no phone or camera. I must go back

I have never heard of this! I'm going to be on the look out now, though.

I've been meaning to take a picture of the one across the street from us--what a crazy genius idea these little things are. My last few months have seen me borrowing book after book after book...not to mention watching the semi-tended kids across the street lose their minds with excitement that THERE ARE BOOKS RIGHT THERE, BY THEIR HOUSE.

Oh, that's so cool. There are a few around here... and Ali has a Gigantic Free Library inside the coffee shop. It is well stocked and sees a lot of action!

We need one.
Actually - we have a few places where books are exchanged (a local cafe comes to mind). But we need the little house :)

Yay!!! There's one on the other end of the block. It's been a great way to pass books on to other readers who want them, vs taking them to the thrift store where who knows what happens to them.

Down the street is a box on a fence with books inside; I'll have to check it out (LOL). Not as cute as the house one, it's shaped like a commercial building with a flat roof and "plate glass" front.
