My Smokey bear is FINE!
Our dog, Bear, is FINE! (although very, very old)
The R.I.P. was for a wild bear that Smokey hit with the van.
Thank you all so much for your kind words and sympathy, but happily (although the black bear might have a different opinion) my bears are FINE.
The bear post was supposed to go up next Saturday, but I clicked on "Publish" instead of "Publish on..." I fixed that later when I noticed it. Google Reader may tell you the post is there, Facebook may tell you it is there, Twitter may tell you it is there, Bloglines might even tell you it is there, but TypePad is correct to tell you it isn't. Remember, patience is a virtue...
